Beamish

8 cars took part in our annual run to Beamish. The weather was fine which allowed us to travel with our hoods down.

Arriving at about 11.00am we were directed to our parking spot (by type of MG).

We spent the day looking around Beamish, travelling on various types of vehicles, watching them make cinder toffee and ,of course,

purchasing some. We returned home late afternoon before the rain started.

Club run - Shadow the railway

There was a choice of meeting either at Skipton Auction Mart or driving straight to Hellifield station café for breakfast (excellent bacon butties).

After breakfast 14 cars set off on our railway adventure. After driving through Ingleton we saw our first ,of many, viaducts.

Lunch was at the Fat Lamb Inn near Ravenstonedale.

On our homeward journey a few cars parked at Kirkby Stephen where one of our members

said he could smell petrol and lo and behold he had a petrol leak. After calling the AA he and the other members

who stayed with him had to wait nearly FOUR hours for the repair.

For those who did not go on the run see Stuart for the full details and perhaps try it for themselves.

Chill on the hill

7 cars decided to enjoy the company of our friends from the colonies for Independence Day celebrations.

The show was organised with the usual panache of the Americans. An enjoyable day.
