Beamish

Due to various reasons only one car attended this show. It was well attended by many clubs and Beamish is always well worth a visit.

Club Night - Alphabet Game

Many thanks to Val for this evenings entertainment, it certainly got the little grey cells working and sometimes it pays

to write down the obvious as most people try to use the more obscure.

French Adventure 2010

Four Harrogate cars and one from High Wycombe set off in high spirits for our French Adventure, and we were not disappointed.

We started with dinner on the ferry (celebrating that we were all, in fact, on the same ferry!) and then continued with breakfast the next day in St. Malo,

before a pleasant drive down to St. Jean de Monts in the Vendee.  Le Robinson Hotel, sourced from the internet, turned out to be a very good choice

– St. Jean is a lovely little seaside town, and the hotel provided us with an excellent dinner (notice a certain pre-occupation with food here)

in readiness for our journey down to Cognac.

Hoods down, we had another great drive, stopping in Coulon, known as Green Venice, for lunch by the river before arriving in Louzignac mid-afternoon.

Our hosts Sally and Peter provided tea and beer by the pool, where we relaxed before settling in and readying ourselves for dinner (more food!)

which was accompanied by very generous helpings of pineau, wine and cognac.

We had a very pleasant week in this delightful region – driving through the sunflowers and vines, visiting Cognac and the coast,

and being guided by Sally round a distillery where we were able to taste and purchase the local brew.

All too soon it was time to depart, and some of us repeated the slow drive back to St. Jean, while others took the fast road in order to soak up the sand and sea for a little longer.

Then finally back to Dinan, where we enjoyed all that this beautiful walled town and surrounding area had to offer.

Eventually it was back to St. Malo, to celebrate Gloria’s birthday on the boat, and reflect on approximately 1,747 miles trouble free driving

with cars whose average age is about 35 years old – what an adventure!

Pub Night - Chequers Inn

As usual, an excellent meal at this pub, and as a carvery good value for money.

Chill on the Hill

Two cars attended this show on a warm but overcast day. With typical American hospitality sticky buns and coffee were provided free all day.

More cars were entered this year included more non American and also a section for Harley Davison motor bikes.
