Potteries Run

Two cars from the Harrogate Club spent the weekend (5th and 6th September) away with the

Potteries and South Cheshire Club, money raised was for the Staffordshire Air Ambulance and the Donna Louise Children Hospice.

We started out from Amerton Farm and Craft Centre near to Stafford after a very hearty breakfast of bacon and sausage sandwiches,

tops down was the order of the day as the sun shone and no rain.

The run took us through some beautiful Staffordshire and Cheshire countryside with a very picturesque mid point stop.

The run finished at Gawsworth Hall near to Macclesfield, an ancient Manor House wrapped in romance, intrigue and great charm.

It is privately owned and quite literally the current owners take you round the house and its wonderful garden setting where 70+ MGs parked.

A great weekend with considerable effort being made by the Potteries and South Staffordshire Club to ensure all had a good time.

Five MG’s and a Moggie attended this show.

This show seems to be going from strength to strength with a field full of cars, vans,

traction engines and lots of stalls.

Lancashire Lanes Run

The Whiteley’s and Redfearn’s did the 'Lancashire Lanes Run, organised by Preston and District MG Club

on the most glorious of Sundays we have had for a long time, bright sunny weather all day.

The run took us north of the M65 through the Ribble Valley and the Trough of Bowland,

along part of the lower Lune Valley and round the Crook O’ Lune.

Following some of the most detailed tulip diagrams seen, over 90 miles of spectacular scenery and so

different to Yorkshire, made for a great day out.

Richard Campleman and Leeds United ( from the Yorkshire Evening Post )

Leeds United fan and Harrogate MG club member, Richard Campleman was the envy of every Whites supporter

after he won a competition to be in this season’s official United first team picture.

Richard, of Calverley, got his chance to line up with his heroes, after being drawn first out of the hat in a

competition organised by the YEP and United’s kit sponsors netflights.com.

Richard sat on the front row in between United manager Simon Grayson,

first team skipper Richard Naylor and the rest of the current Elland Road squad
